Privacy Policy

We collect no personal information. Safwa is designed to work entirely offline. We do not ask for your name, email address, phone number, date of birth, or any other personally identifying information.

The following data is stored only on your device in local device storage:

• Your selected language and display preferences (light/dark mode, text size)
• Whether you have accepted the legal disclaimer
• Your current Umrah ritual progress (phase, round and trip counts, timestamps)
• Your automatic-counting preference (on or off)

This data is never transmitted to any server, cloud service, or third party. Deleting the app removes all stored data.

Safwa may request access to your device's location services only if you turn on Automatic Counting. Location is used entirely on-device for:

• Automatically counting your Tawaaf rounds and Sa'ee trips
• Displaying proximity alerts when approaching the Ka'bah, Safa, Marwah, and the Miqaat points
• Continuing to count automatically when the app is minimised (background location)

Your GPS coordinates are processed in real time on your device only. They are never stored persistently, never transmitted to any server, and never shared with any third party. You can disable location access at any time in your device's Settings app, and you can always count manually without granting location access.

Safwa may request access to your device's accelerometer and gyroscope only if you turn on Automatic Counting. Motion data is used entirely on-device to detect your walking direction and step count, supporting automatic Tawaaf and Sa'ee counting.

Motion data is processed in real time and is never stored or transmitted. You can disable motion access in your device's Settings app at any time.

Safwa contains no analytics, tracking, advertising, or crash-reporting SDKs. We do not use Firebase, Google Analytics, Mixpanel, Amplitude, Sentry, Crashlytics, or any similar service. We do not build advertising profiles or sell any data.

There are no third-party SDKs in the app other than Apple's own frameworks (CoreMotion, CoreLocation) and the Capacitor web-app wrapper.

Safwa loads Arabic calligraphy fonts (Scheherazade New) and interface fonts (Inter) from Google Fonts on first use. If you have an internet connection, Google may log the font request. Once cached, the fonts load from your device with no network request. Please refer to Google's privacy policy for their data practices.

No other external network connections are made. All Umrah guidance content, Quranic text, and hadith references are bundled inside the app and work fully offline.

Safwa is suitable for all ages. Because we collect no personal data whatsoever, there is no special handling required for users under 13 (COPPA) or under 16 (GDPR). No account creation, registration, or personally identifying information is required or requested at any time.

Since all data remains on your device and nothing is transmitted to any server, there is no external database to breach. Your ritual progress is protected by your device's own security model (passcode, Face ID, Touch ID).

You have full control over your data at all times:

• Access: All data is stored in your device's local storage and belongs entirely to you
• Deletion: Clear your ritual progress from inside the app at any time, or delete the app to remove all data immediately
• Portability: No account or cloud sync means there is no data transfer to request
• Objection: Disable location or motion access at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security

If this policy changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and post the revised policy at this URL. Because we collect no personal data, any changes will be structural or clarifying in nature rather than affecting how your data is handled.
